A good example of this, is the identification of chemicals under the Globally Harmonized System (GHS). This is typically done by the chemical industry where work environments are highly secure. Manufactured chemicals must be properly identified with a series of pictograms, warning phrases and safety standards. The GHS standards regulate the correct identification of these products worldwide. To meet these standards, chemical manufacturers must invest large sums of money for a large format printer, different types of preprinted labels, robust computers, design programs and provide trained operators.
With its line of 4, 6 and 8″ wide format industrial printers, TSC provides an all-in-one solution where you can label products using the chemical selection menu that appears on the printer color touch screen. With a database resident on the printer or by connecting directly to a database (either SQL, Oracle, ODBC by accessing with TSC MiddleWare tool), the end-user can have full label information without having to operate a computer or invest in hours of training.
