ScanSource Communications has announced the opening of its new office in Warsaw, Poland. With the opening of the office, ScanSource can better serve its reseller partners in the region, providing dedicated service and support.

By enhancing its presence in Poland, ScanSource Communications enables its vendor partners to broaden their reach and assists resellers looking to grow their communications business in the region. ScanSource can also invoice its reseller customers in Poland in Polish zloty, making it even easier to do business.

Mr. Vickerage joined ScanSource through the Company’s 2014 acquisition of Imago, Europe’s leading value-added distributor of video and voice communications equipment and services. He joined Imago in 1997 and worked in senior sales and marketing roles for the company. Prior to his appointment of President, Mr. Vickerage served as Vice President in the UK and Ireland for ScanSource Communications, where he led the sales, merchandising and marketing teams.

Paul Constantine and Tony Sorrentino bring extensive channel experience to new roles

ScanSource, Inc., a leading global provider of technology products and solutions, today announced new leadership for its Worldwide Barcode, Networking and Security segment with the appointment of two seasoned channel executives to the role of Worldwide Co-President.  Paul Constantine and Tony Sorrentino will provide strategic vision and leadership for the segment on a global basis.

In addition to their worldwide leadership positions, Mr. Constantine and Mr. Sorrentino will hold dual roles in the Company, with Mr. Constantine continuing to serve as President of the ScanSource POS and Barcode business unit in the US and Canada and Mr. Sorrentino continuing to serve as President of the ScanSource Networking and Security business unit in the US.

Mr. Constantine joined ScanSource in 1999, where he held merchandising leadership positions in the POS and Barcode business unit. He then assumed the role of Vice President of Solutions and Services, where he provided strategic growth and leadership for the Company’s value-added service offerings for resellers, across all sales units. He also served as Vice President of Merchandising for ScanSource Security before taking on his current role of President of ScanSource POS and Barcode, US and Canada. Mr. Constantine was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the Retail Solutions Providers Association (RSPA), an organization dedicated to promoting and connecting the Point-of-Sale technology ecosystem. He also serves on the Board of Directors of AIM North America, a premier source of industry support for the automatic identification and mobility (AIM) market.

Mr. Sorrentino has been with ScanSource since 1999 and with the ScanSource Security business since its inception in 2004. He has more than 16 years of technology distribution experience and previously served as Vice President of Merchandising for ScanSource Security, where he was instrumental in developing the company’s line card to include the industry’s leading networking and physical security manufacturers. Prior to joining the Networking and Security business unit, Mr. Sorrentino served in merchandising leadership roles for ScanSource POS and Barcode in the US.

Mr. Constantine and Mr. Sorrentino will report to Mike Baur, CEO, ScanSource, Inc.

Buck Baker, who formerly served as President of Worldwide Barcode and Security, has been named President of Worldwide Communications and Services, where he is responsible for the worldwide leadership and management of the ScanSource Catalyst and ScanSource Communications business units in the US, Europe and Latin America, in addition to the Company’s services offerings. Mike Ferney, formerly President of Worldwide Communications and Services, has been named Innovation Architect for ScanSource, Inc.  In this newly created role, Mr. Ferney will develop the processes and structure behind the Company’s innovation engine. Mr. Baker and Mr. Ferney will continue to report to Mike Baur.

ScanSource POS and Barcode, ha celebrado en Malta su Conferencia de Distribuidores 2016 de ScanSource, un evento único con visión de futuro al que asistieron cerca de 200 invitados, entre los que se encontraban tanto directivos de ScanSource como agentes comerciales y distribuidores de la compañía. Esta conferencia anual, patrocinada por Zebra, Honeywell y Datalogic, reunió a expertos del sector durante tres días de puesta en común con el objetivo de promover el diálogo sobre las tendencias actuales y futuras de la industria. La conferencia tuvo lugar en la soleada ciudad de La Valeta, por lo que los invitados, además de asistir a las charlas, tuvieron también la oportunidad de disfrutar de los encantos de la capital de Malta durante una visita guiada o durante un paseo en barco por el Gran Puerto de La Valeta.

El programa de la conferencia incluía una serie de sesiones en las que se discutió sobre nuevas tendencias y desarrollos clave en la industria del software con un especial interés en los retos y oportunidades que conlleva el “Internet de las cosas”. ScanSource, Inc. has closed its purchase of KBZ, an award-winning Cisco Authorized Distributor specializing in video conferencing, cloud, and services.  ScanSource announced the execution of a letter of intent to purchase the assets of KBZ on August 18, 2015. Founded in 1987 and based in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, KBZ operates in the United States and has approximately 75 employees. The company’s sales for the trailing twelve months ended June 30, 2015 are estimated to total over $225 million. The acquisition is expected to be accretive to earnings per share and ROIC in the first year after closing, excluding one-time acquisition costs.

KBZ, formerly Tandberg’s largest distributor prior to its 2009 acquisition by Cisco, focuses its business exclusively on Cisco and complementary vendors.  This acquisition enables ScanSource to enhance its focus on Cisco’s solutions, combining the strengths of both distributors to provide a more robust portfolio of products, solutions and services.  KBZ also brings a specialized public sector team to accelerate sales to Federal, state and local governments.
